RAD140: Is Testolone the most powerful SARM?

RAD140 Is Testolone the most powerful SARM

RAD 140 (Testolone) is a SARM (Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator). Similar to other SARMS, it is a chemical that binds to the androgen receptors in a tissue selective manner. So, what the hell does that mean?

Androgen receptors (AR) are found throughout the human body. Anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS) are hormones that bind to these receptors and activate them, leading to changes in gene expression that control the development and maintenance of male sexual characteristics and other physiological functions, including muscle growth, bone density, and the production of sperm.

But steroids come with significant side effects, because androgen receptors are also involved in the development and progression of various diseases, including prostate cancer and male pattern baldness.

While androgenic anabolic steroids (AAS) target the AR in the whole body, SARMs such as RAD 140 works by binding more specific to the androgen receptors in certain type of tissue, especially in skeletal muscles. As a result, they are being researched as a possible safer alternative to their steroid counterparts.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF RAD 140

Testolone was developed as a possible treatment for muscle wasting and breast cancer in 2011. Since research shows this SARM has possible neuroprotective properties, there is ongoing research on the role it could play in Alzheimer’s disease.

Since Testolone is one of the newer SARMs, it isn’t as well-researched as LGD-4033 or MK-2866. In fact, the first human trial of RAD-140 was only recently conducted and finished.

What does RAD-140 do to the body?

RAD 140 works by selectively stimulating androgen receptors in specific types of tissue in the body. For instance, It binds to the androgen receptors in skeletal muscle, resulting in anabolic properties. But it does not bind to the same receptors in organs such as the prostate, therefore preventing many of the negative side effects associated with steroids.

RAD140 benefits

The benefits of RAD140 are comparable with those of androgenic anabolic steroids (AAS). This SARM binds to the androgen receptors in skeletal tissue, giving it anabolic properties.

The most important benefits associated with RAD140 include:

  • Muscle growth and strength
  • Fat loss
  • Increased endurance
  • Neuroprotective effects

Muscle growth and strength

One of the primary reasons for RAD140’s popularity is its ability to promote muscle growth and increase strength. By selectively targeting androgen receptors in muscle tissue, RAD140 stimulates anabolic activity, leading to increased protein synthesis and muscle cell growth. This results in improved muscle mass and strength, making it an attractive option for bodybuilders and athletes looking to enhance their performance.

Fat loss

RAD140 has shown promise in promoting fat loss by increasing the body’s metabolism and improving insulin sensitivity. This makes it easier for the body to utilize stored fat as an energy source, which can result in a leaner physique. Combining RAD140 with a healthy diet and exercise regimen may lead to enhanced fat loss and improved body composition.

Increased endurance

RAD140 also significantly boosts workout recovery, muscular endurance and levels of stamina. Users of Testolone universally report having a lot more workout energy during their cycle.

Neuroprotective effects

Some preliminary studies suggest that RAD140 may offer neuroprotective benefits, as it appears to help preserve neurons from damage and degeneration. While further research is needed to validate these findings, the potential neuroprotective properties of RAD140 could make it an interesting candidate for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

RAD140 side effects

Just like every other compound, RAD140 isn’t perfect and some side-effects are associated with its use:

  • Testosterone suppression
  • Liver toxicity
  • Other potential side effects

Let’s explore these side-effects some more.

Testosterone suppression

As with other SARMs, RAD140 can suppress the body’s natural testosterone production, leading to hormonal imbalances. This can result in side effects such as reduced libido, mood swings, and fatigue. Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) is crucial for helping the body restore its natural hormonal balance after completing a RAD140 cycle to minimize these side effects and promote a healthy recovery.

Liver toxicity

Although RAD140 is generally considered to be less hepatotoxic than traditional anabolic steroids, it can still cause liver stress in some individuals. Regular blood tests and monitoring of liver enzymes are essential to ensure that the liver is not being adversely affected during a RAD140 cycle.

Other potential side effects

Some users have reported experiencing side effects such as headaches, nausea, and insomnia while using RAD140. These side effects are typically mild and often subside as the body adapts to the compound. However, it is important to listen to your body and consult a healthcare professional if any side effects persist or worsen.

RAD 140 Dosage and cycles

Half-life

The half-life of Testolone has been the subject of debate for a long time.

Based on the most recent clinical trials, we know that the active half-life is 44 hours. However, the dosages used in this trial were much higher than those used by bodybuilders: 50mg to 150mg per day!

It is safe to assume that the half-life is less when used at a dose of 10mg, but there is definitely no need to divide the dose. Just make sure to take RAD-140 at roughly the same time each day,

Dosage used in clinical trials

As previously mentioned, only one study has actually been performed on humans, with all the test subjects being women.

The doses used were disproportionately high, but the women tolerated the compound well, and no deaths were caused by such a high dose.

What is interesting is that, based on this trial, the maximum tolerated dose was deemed 100mgs per day.

However, we have to consider the fact that women were used as test subjects, and if someone were to repeat the same experiment with men using the same dosages, the threat of a complete testosterone shutdown would be imminent.

This study doesn’t help us much in determining the perfect dosage for RAD140, but it does seem to be relatively safe to use, even in higher dosages.
